Lake Region students got a jump on Green Up Day, picking trash along several dirt roads in Barton on Wednesday, April 29th. Altogether, 38 students picked trash along the roadside, filling cheerful green sacks of Green Up Day with detritus and preventing litter from winding up in the watershed or in farmers' fields. Green Up Day, an annul event in Vermont, is held the first Saturday of May across the state. Local families interested in participating should contact their Town Offices.
