The members of the National Honor Society have challenged their classmates to a Coin War. The goal is to raise money with which to buy supplies for holiday meals for local families. Colorful jars sit in the Lobby. Adding coins to a jar works against the graduating class whose jar that is; they are subtracted from the total value of the money in the jar. Adding dollar bills to a jar works on behalf of that class; they add to the value of the money stashed in a jar. Students can add coins to the jar of another class, making it more difficult for the students in that graduating class to win, or they can add dollar bills to the jar of their own graduating class. The winning class will win a cookie party during Advisory next Monday, 12/15. All money raised will be used to purchase the supplies (a ham, vegetables, side dishes, a pie) local families can use to make themselves holiday meals.
