On April 1st, we hosted a successful Family Math Night that brought together students, families, and educators for an evening of engaging, hands-on learning. The event was designed to promote a positive attitude toward mathematics while strengthening connections between school and home.
Teachers created and facilitated a variety of interactive math stations, offering students and their families opportunities to explore mathematical concepts through games, problem-solving activities, and collaborative challenges. The stations encouraged critical thinking, communication, and teamwork, while demonstrating that math can be both accessible and enjoyable.
Throughout the evening, families moved from station to station, actively participating in activities and working together. The event highlighted the importance of family involvement in education and provided a welcoming space for shared learning experiences.
Each student who attended received a take-home math toolkit filled with resources to continue practicing skills outside of the classroom. In addition, students were given raffle tickets for a chance to win math-themed prizes, adding an element of excitement to the event.
The school’s Community Club contributed to the evening by sponsoring a basket raffle and providing a complimentary pulled pork sandwich dinner for attendees. Their support helped create a warm, inclusive environment and encouraged strong community participation.
Family Math Night exemplified the school’s commitment to fostering both academic growth and community engagement. The event was well attended and positively received, with participants expressing appreciation for the opportunity to learn together in a fun and supportive setting.
