Public Notice -- Special Education Destruction of Records
Notice is hereby given that the Orleans Central Supervisory Union, including the towns of Albany, Barton, Brownington, Irasburg, Glover, Orleans, and Westmore intends to destroy the special education records of all students who exited from any special education program prior to and during the 2014-2015 school year. This means that any special educational records no longer needed to provide educational services will be destroyed. A permanent record of the student name, address, telephone number, grades, attendance record and year completed is maintained without time limitations.
Any student, or former student, who has reached 18 years of age, may review and/or receive these records upon request. Also, any parent of a student who is 18 years of age or older, who has retained parental rights, may obtain these records. Please contact the LRUHS main office at (802)754-2500 x 310 before August 1, 2020. If no student, parent or guardian responds to this public notice prior to August 1, 2020, the school district will assume consent to destroy the entire record specific to the student. Destruction of these records will begin on August 3, 2020.
