SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
June 3, 2022 at 6:20 a.m.
Dear Orleans Central Supervisory Union Families, Staff and Community; Including the towns of Albany, Barton, Brownington, Glover, Irasburg, Orleans, and Westmore;
Today is June 3rd, This is Supt. Chamberlin; Last evening a school message was sent out putting the Elementary and Middle Schools in a modified lockdown for today due to a gun threat that we were notified of around 8:00 p.m. last evening for Lake Region High School this morning.
As of late last evening, a minor child was apprehended by the local Sheriff’s Office and is now in custody and under direct supervision.
With an abundance of caution, and in an effort to offer support in a time when our concerns are heightened, we will still close the Lake Region Union High School for today.
However, the Elementary and Middle Schools will NOT need to operate under a modified lockdown protocol.
We are greatly appreciative to all members of the community who called and conveyed evidence to administration and the authorities which allowed us to quickly secure the situation. As always, if you see something or hear something, please report it.
I wish everyone a restful weekend. If there are updates available, we will communicate with you at that time.
At this time, we are anticipating we will operate with a normal schedule on Monday.
Student and staff safety is our primary goal and focus as we bring this school year to a close.
Be well,
Ms. Chamberlin
OCSU Supt. Of Schools
