Glover Community School is looking for a school counselor. The hired person would be expected to teach the health and guidance curriculum at the school. The guidance curriculum would include social-emotional learning and bullying prevention. The health curriculum would include the Act 1 Healthy Relationships program and sex ed in the middle school in collaboration with the school nurse.
The guidance counselor would also help the middle school teachers and the Gear-Up counselor with students' personalized learning plans and career paths. He/she would take 7th and 8th graders on a college visit, and goes with our 8th graders to the high school for all transition visits.
The weekly schedule would include a recess/lunch duty a couple of days, 2-3 guidance/health classes taught to specific grades each day, maybe some small group work with students, and maybe even 1:1 meetings with a few students a couple of days a week. The guidance counselor participates on all three of our teams (the Leadership Team, the Student Support Team, and the Educational Support Team).

Job Requirements:
- All applicants must provide a letter of interest, a resume, three current letters of recommendation, and three references.
- The hired candidate will need to have a background check.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
- Master degree preferred
- Vermont Teaching License with School Counselor Endorsement or eligible for a Provisional. Any candidate who is granted a provision license will need to work toward a school counselor license over a two year period.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
