PowerSchool Student Information System

Student Information System

A Student Information System (SIS) is used to collect all of the data needed to maintain accurate demographic records for students and families. In OCSU, we use PowerSchool as our SIS. Each student has a confidential profile in the system that includes addresses and phone numbers for guardian names and emergency contacts, medical alerts, the student's OCSU-provided email address, and any other pertinent demographic data.

The SIS also acts as a course enrollment tool. Classes are created in the SIS for each teacher in the school and students are assigned to those classes. This allows teachers to have access to the information they need for their current students. It also allows other digital tools used in our schools and classrooms to access rosters to create accounts for students when given permission to do so. However, only student names and email addresses are used to generate those accounts and other demographic data is not shared outside the SIS.

High School Grading & Reporting System

PowerSchool also has a feature called "PowerTeacherPRO" that the high school uses to collect student assessment data and report it to families. Parents and students can use their login information (see the links on the right of this page) to access PowerTeacherPRO and review assignment scores and overall class grades at any time.
