Purpose:
To create a rigorous intervention program for students who have been identified as requiring Tier II and Tier III interventions and to support universal screenings, data entry, and data teams.
Responsibilities:
- Provide small group reading or math interventions for students identified as needing Tier II and/or Tier III support.
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, the other interventionist, special educators, and the principal to design and implement an effective intervention program
- Monitor and track student progress
- Attend EST/progress monitoring meetings, data meetings and other meetings as determined by the principal
- Help administer RtI, diagnostic and district assessments, progress monitor and enter progress monitoring data as needed
Additional Responsibilities:
- Experience teaching in a K-8 setting required
- Experience with Guided Reading, Benchmark assessments, progress monitoring and small group adult led instruction required
- Experience with Eureka Math program strongly preferred
- Training in LLI and other reading intervention programs a great bonus
- Able to collaborate with many teachers, coaches and administrators
- Able to manage a flexible schedule and work with students in K-8 in reading, writing, math and sometimes social skill development as necessary
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- 3 years teaching experience
- Valid Vermont teaching license
- Strong knowledge of research-based math and literacy intervention strategies
Job Requirements
- Applicants must be able to pass a background check, including fingerprinting
- Valid Vermont Teaching License
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
