Act 46 Study Committee

2015-2016 Act 46 Study Committee

Thank you to all the community members for their input on the work of the Act 46 Study Committee's Report and for taking the time to vote on June 7, 2016. The results of the vote were:
  • Albany: Yes = 33, No = 36 (vote Failed)
  • Barton: Yes = 56, No = 35 (vote Passed)
  • Brownington: Yes=22, No = 45 (vote Failed)
  • Glover: Yes = 37, No = 74 (vote Failed)
  • Irasburg: Yes = 27, No = 62 (vote Failed)
  • Orleans: Yes = 31, No = 41 (vote Failed)
  • Westmore: Yes = 21, No = 32 (vote Failed)
All towns needed to vote in favor, thus Act 46 failed. This Act 46 Study Committee dissolved upon the Certification from the Town Clerks.
Charge of Orleans Central Supervisory Union's Act 46 Study Committee:
As soon as practicable, submit a report to the State Board of Education that will indicate if there is a desire to create a “single education district” that includes all of the towns in Orleans Central SU.
